Mozart Horn Concerto Album
Visual identity and album design for a recording of Mozart’s horn concertos. The graphic system was developed through research on the pieces and conversations with the performer, focusing on how the music reveals the structure and character of the horn itself.
The concerto is often praised for its deep understanding of the horn’s mechanics: its tubing, valves, and the way air travels through the instrument. I translated this into a set of modular graphic elements derived from disassembled horn parts—loops, bends, and joints.
These components were reorganized into diagrams and typographic structures, used across the album cover and booklet to echo the feeling of a precise yet expressive instrument.
모차르트 호른 협주곡 앨범의 그래픽 아이덴티티와 커버, 소책자를 디자인한 작업입니다. 곡에 대한 리서치와 연주자와의 인터뷰를 바탕으로, 음악이 드러내는 호른의 구조와 성격에 주목했습니다.
모차르트 호른 협주곡은 호른이라는 악기의 구조와 메커니즘을 가장 잘 이해한 곡으로 평가받습니다. 길게 이어지는 관, 굽이치는 곡선, 결합 지점 등을 해체한 뒤, 이 부품들을 그래픽 요소로 재구성했습니다.
해체된 부품에서 파생된 도해와 선 구조를 커버와 소책자의 시각 언어로 사용해, 정교하면서도 표현적인 악기의 특성을 시각적으로 번역하고자 했습니다.
