CAU BFA Graduate Exhibition
Visual identity and leaflet design for the BFA Graduate Exhibition at Chung-Ang University College of Art. The exhibition was held under the theme “Defects of Established Theory.”
The graphic system was developed from sculptures and installations inspired by the Möbius strip, created by artist Jihwan Jang. The visual language explores how a single continuous surface can represent the ambiguity between inside and outside, stability and disruption.
The graphic approach was refined with references from mathematician and author Alexander Bogomolny, whose writings on topology and paradoxical forms informed the visual treatment of the exhibition.
중앙대학교 예술대학 학사학위 청구전을 위한 비주얼 아이덴티티와 리플렛 디자인입니다. 전시는 ‘정설의 결함(Defects of Established Theory)’이라는 주제 아래 진행되었습니다.
그래픽 시스템은 장지환 작가의 ‘뫼비우스의 띠’에서 영감을 받은 조각 및 설치 작업에서 출발했습니다. 하나의 연속된 면이 안과 밖, 안정과 균열 사이를 오가는 상태를 시각 언어로 번역하는 데 초점을 두었습니다.
관련 저자 Alexander Bogomolny의 글과 도해를 참고해 전시 주제와 연결되는 수학적 이미지와 구조를 그래픽으로 풀어냈습니다.
